By contrast, the MPX8000 series comes with 4-pin fans which are speed controlled by the BIOS based on the system temperatures. They are very quiet! I found the same 4-pin fans (used) online and installed them. It made the system quiet, cool and I was another step closer to building my “SDX”.

What Did Not Work

In this chapter, I will discuss some of the things I tried in the process building my own SDX. These are the things that did not appear to produce positive results, but did produce a lot of learning on how the SDX works.
